How to Get Better at Disc Golf

Disc golf is a sport that many people enjoy across the country. Many times it's hard to get better at the game as there is limited instruction and resources that are going to help you improve your game. There are things that you can do to get better at disc golf.

First of all, use YouTube. YouTube by far has the most instructional tips of any resource. There are many disc golfers who have generously made videos that will show you how to improve your technique. Watch these and put what you learn into practice. It's too good of a resource to not be using.

Expand the types of throws that you use. Learn which of them that you need to be using for what type of shot. Many players are too linear always using the same throw over and over. Courses are complex and require that you can react to various situations. This is only done with many throws.

Work on your drive if it's still under 200 feet. A solid 200 foot drive or more is going to be needed in order to reduce strokes off your game. Just use an open field and focus on your form. Throw over and over until your drive starts to improve.

Go to a basket and practice on your putting. You should get different discs until you find something that you feel comfortable with. Try to become accurate within about 20 feet of the basket. The goal then should be to land within 20 feet so you make all your puts.

Try to find players in your area that are better than you. You will watch their technique, style, and form. You should also ask questions so that you can find out new things about the game.

Get some new discs. The ones you have might be old or might be the wrong type for you. Use new discs finding ones that are better for your throwing style. Know which disc to use for what type of shot.
